Welcome to My CMS Blog!
My name is Kelly Post and I am the middle school response to intervention(RTI) reading teacher for sixth, seventh, and eight grades and one of the seventh grade english language arts(ELA) teachers here at Coopersville. I'm very excited about being a part of your education and hope that my love of reading will help you to have a fantastic school year!
This year will be my fifteenth year teaching! I've taught third grade, fourth grade, elementary spanish, and middle school. I've taught at Coopersville for eleven years now, but before that I taught in New Orleans for three years, one year at Forest Hills Public Schools, and Grand Rapids Public Schools. I'm very dedicated to our community and enjoy working with the Coopersville Area Youth Advisory Committee and coaching eighth grade volleyball.
I'm a Northern Michigan University Alumni and loved the education I received at NMU. I highly encourage students to find a place they love to attend college if that is their plan, discover a career that they love, and to be passionate about their futures. Never stop learning!
At home I have two rescued dogs, Niyah a pit mix who is eleven and Lana a boxer mix who is two. They are my spoiled children! I enjoy camping, spending time at the beach, and traveling. I've been to almost all of the states, Mexico, Canada, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. My dream trip would take me completely around the world while stepping foot on each continent!
I'm very excited to continue my journey in education helping students to look deeper, experience great strides, and become better readers. Welcome to my class!
